18th Edition of Créajeune Cross-Border Youth Film Competition Kicks Off

The 18th edition of Créajeune, a cross-border youth film competition, is now open for submissions. This event, aimed at young filmmakers from Saarland, Rhineland-Palatinate, Lorraine, Luxembourg, and Wallonia, offers a unique platform for the perspectives and creativity of youth from these regions.

The competition is open to children, young people, and young adults, with age restrictions as follows: children must be 12 years old or younger, youth between 13 and 17, and young adults between 18 and 29. For those aged 29 and under, submissions of music videos are also accepted.

Participants are required to reside in or have a connection to one of the Greater Region areas mentioned and to create an original film or video that meets the competition’s thematic or format criteria for the current edition. Registration and submission of the film must be completed before the competition's deadline, which is November 1, 2025.

Créajeune is supported by multiple governmental and non-governmental entities, including the Saarland Ministry of Education and Culture, the Saarland State Chancellery, Arbeit und Kultur Saarland gGmbH, the Grand Est Region, Passeurs d'Images, the City of Metz, the Quattropole city network, the Saarland Central Agency for Political Education, and various sponsors.

The competition is organized by a cross-border network consisting of Saarland Film Office e.V., Ligue de l'Enseignement/FOL Moselle, Rencontres Documentaires de l'IRTS de Lorraine, EuRegio SaarLorLux, and the Regionalverband Saarbrücken.

The best contributions will be showcased at festivals in Saarbrücken, Metz, and Luxembourg. For more information and the registration form, visit www.creajeune.eu/anmeldung-inscription.

For the latest and most precise information on how to participate in the 18th edition, including specific details such as submission deadlines, themes, or formats, I recommend visiting the official Créajeune website or contacting the cultural organizations in charge of the festival in the Greater Region.

In the spirit of promoting sustainable living and nurturing creative youth, the 18th edition of Créajeune invites home-and-garden submissions centered around eco-friendly lifestyle themes, allowing participants to share their innovative ideas for sustainable living within the Greater Region. These home-and-garden films will join other categories in the competition, showcasing the diverse talents of young filmmakers from Saarland, Rhineland-Palatinate, Lorraine, Luxembourg, and Wallonia.
