Weeklong festivity dedicated to Rhine wines
The 48th Rheingau Wine Week Celebrates in Wiesbaden and Frankfurt
The Rheingau Wine Week 2025 is currently underway in Wiesbaden and will continue until August 17. This annual event, now in its 48th year, is a celebration of the region's vineyards and winemakers, attracting wine enthusiasts from far and wide.
In Wiesbaden, the festival takes place daily, with extended hours on weekends. The stands, located on the square in front of the Marktkirche, feature a diverse selection of local wines and gourmet dishes, accompanied by a musical program. A special guided tour with wine tasting is available, offering insights into six Rheingau winegrowers and their wines.
This year, the event features a partnership stand with Kamjanez-Podilskyj, Wiesbaden's partner city in Ukraine, showcasing western Ukraine's wine tradition. Newcomers to the Rheingau Wine Week include Weingut Moii from Geisenheim and Weingut Preis from Hochheim.
For a comfortable and eco-friendly arrival and departure, ESWE Verkehr offers the Weinfest-Veranstaltungsticket. This ticket, priced at 5.20 euros for adults and 3.00 euros for children, serves as both fare and a voucher for a glass of wine at selected winemakers.
Taxis are available during the day at their regular stop in Friedrich Street and in the evenings at an additional stand on Wilhelm Street.
The Rheingau Wine Week offers more than just wine tasting. Visitors can enjoy a program of music, and for parents, a childcare service is available on Saturdays from 4 pm to 10 pm and Sundays from 1 pm to 8 pm. The cost varies depending on the day and the number of children.
Bike lockers are open during the event, with hours varying depending on the day. Toilet facilities are set up at several locations, and a water supply stand and a Lotto Hessen sales stand can also be found on the festival grounds.
The official wine glass of the 48th Rheingau Wine Week is a collectible item featuring the Wiesbaden Museum, which will celebrate its 200th anniversary in 2025. Two guarded bike lockers are available during the event, one at the rear exit of the Market Church and one in the Prince's Garden.
The Rheingau Wine Week began with a festive procession of wine queens and princesses. The event is held daily from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. on weekdays and until midnight on Fridays and Saturdays.
Separately, the Rheingau Wine Festival in Frankfurt is scheduled for September 3–12. This event, held on the Freßgass promenade, offers a slightly different experience, with Rheingau wineries presenting their wines accompanied by personal vintner advice.
