Volunteering takes center stage in Freiburg's exhibition: Gallery backs "City of Engagement"
New Volunteering Initiative Launches in Freiburg's Galeria Store
A new volunteering initiative has been launched in Freiburg, Germany, with the inauguration of a 2.16-meter-high stele in the Galeria store on Kaiser-Joseph-Straße. The event was attended by Ülku Saltık, manager of the Galeria branch, Antje Reinhardt, and Frederike Pähler from the municipal coordination office for civic engagement.
The stele, which will remain in the Galeria store until the start of the Christmas business, will display information obtained from the digital Participation Exchange. A QR code on the stele directs users to the Freiburg Engagement Guide for comprehensive information on volunteering opportunities in the city.
The project aims to demonstrate collaboration between administration, business, politics, and civil society in promoting civic engagement. Information about volunteering opportunities will be updated monthly on the stele. After the holidays, the space may be used otherwise, with the possibility of returning for the stele after the holidays.
The 'Committed City' Federal Network will showcase volunteering opportunities in Freiburg, starting next week. For more information, visit www.freiburg.de/engagement. The Federal Network can be found at www.engagiertestadt.de.
