Upcoming open days in the Koblenz area
The city of Koblenz is set to host the Schängel Market, a traditional artisanal market, as part of a wider regional shopping initiative on September 21, 2025. This event, which extends beyond a single day, will also involve several neighboring cities such as Montabaur, Remagen, Hennef (Sieg), and Bonn.
The Schängel Market in Koblenz is renowned for being the largest artisanal market in northern Rhineland-Palatinate. Visitors can expect to witness artisans creating items on-site, from crafting cutting boards to baking bread in a wood-fired oven.
The city center of Koblenz will be open for shopping from 1 PM to 6 PM during this special day. In addition to the shopping experience, musical entertainment will be provided at various stages in the old town of Koblenz, adding to the festive atmosphere.
This shopping event is not exclusive to Koblenz. Cities like Mainz, Speyer, Remagen, and Ulmen in Rheinland-Pfalz will also participate with shops and events open for shopping from about 13:00 to 18:00 on the same day.
The regional shopping initiative doesn't stop there. Mülheim-Kärlich hosts a Martin's Market on November 2, Bad Neuenahr-Ahrweiler hosts Herbstbunt on October 26, and both Montabaur and Mayen host Christmas Markets on November 30. Neuwied will also be part of the festivities with a Crunch Market on the same day.
Furthermore, there are still shopping Sundays scheduled in the region for the month of October. The specific dates have yet to be announced.
This shopping event in Koblenz's city center is not a one-time event, but occurs on multiple dates throughout the year, making it an ongoing attraction for locals and tourists alike. So, mark your calendars and get ready to immerse yourself in the vibrant shopping and cultural experiences that this regional shopping initiative has to offer!
