The city of Offenbach has recently unveiled a new water play area named Fontänenfeld in Leonhard-Eißnert-Park. This modern and family-friendly attraction, designed for fun, enjoyment, and cooling, spans approximately 255 square metres and features 25 ground-level water fountains.

The project, which was completed in just four months, saw a swift implementation due to clear prioritization and smooth cooperation between the Planning and Building Authority and commissioned companies. The new water play area has replaced the old one, which was outdated technically and not suitable for renovation.

Despite the increased cost, around 30,000 euros were saved on the civil engineering work. The savings were achieved through efficient planning and collaboration. The renovation, originally budgeted at around 200,000 euros, ended up costing approximately 700,000 euros due to changes in technical requirements and the tense situation in the construction industry.

The new Fontänenfeld is equipped with modern technology, including seven pumps, automatic water cleaning and treatment, and an integrated wind sensor. This wind sensor automatically adjusts the fountain height in strong winds, saving water and protecting the environment.

In addition to the water play area, the surrounding area will soon be enhanced with additional seating and greening. These additions aim to create a more comfortable and inviting environment for visitors.

While specific information about eco-friendly water fountain projects implemented in Offenbach is limited, it's clear that the city is committed to sustainability. Offenbach's new water play area is a testament to this commitment, offering a fun and environmentally-friendly attraction for all to enjoy.
