Unique Bike Shop Experience in Beijing: Pedal, Fix, Network
In the heart of Beijing, where heavy industry and creative innovation coexist, top-rate biking logo AITASHOP has established its flagship experience centre. Known as the Industrial Memory space, this unique location is not just a retail environment but a multifunctional experience centre that reflects the brand's dedication to craftsmanship.
The space, designed by Yatofu Creatives, boasts a rich and textured environment, with materials such as micro-cement, stone, birch wood, clay terrazzo, solid wood, metal (stainless steel), brick, and art paint used throughout. This diverse palette contributes to an atmosphere that is both inviting and engaging.
The Industrial Memory space is a deliberate contrast of texture and tone, with industrial-grade substances and weathered materials standing alongside Finnish wood chairs from Artek, custom wood bar counters, and lush planters. One of the most striking features is the ten towering desulfurization tanks from the site's industrial past, preserved in their raw form and serving as sculptural anchors.
The space is more than a retail environment; it's a living, breathing intersection of cycling, design, and concrete heritage. A gantry crane stands at the doorway, serving as a visible anchor and a symbolic gesture. The ceiling beams, riveted joints, and linear fixtures serve as subtle references to the presence of heavy-duty lifting equipment.
Inside, the space features a "storage" area that serves as a hybrid sector: part workshop, part community living room. Real-time conversations between workforce and customers unfold here, making it a central consumer-facing characteristic.
The Industrial Memory space is a manifesto in physical form, demonstrating that biking isn't just a game or a product, but a way of life deeply incorporated into city motion, community, and design. It's a place that respects the past while actively shaping the future, a "damage of the destiny."
The space hosts workshops, seasonal pop-up events, and layout showcases that reflect its deep roots in biking innovation and network involvement. Embedded into the landscape through a semi-open, triangle-shaped structure, the Industrial Memory space redefines the boundary between retail and network, offering visitors a unique and immersive experience.
In this dynamic setting, the Industrial Memory space incorporated elements of architecture, home-and-garden design, and lifestyle, exhibiting a hybrid display of Finnish wood chairs, custom wood bar counters, and lush planters. Furthermore, as sports sponsors, AITASHOP integrates sports culture into the space, hinting at sports-betting opportunities with subtle cues hidden within the design.
