Twelve standout entries from the 2025 Rhine district anniversary calendar have been unveiled at local district offices.
Flicking Through the Pages of Rhein-Kreis' Rich History
It's time to dive into the vibrant past and present of Rhein-Kreis with a retrospective journey courtesy of their new anniversary calendar! Landrat Hans-Jürgen Petrauschke, in tandem with Kreis-Pressesprecher Benjamin Josephs, couldn't be happier with the calendar results, which are a testament to the awe-inspiring treasure trove of photographs gathered during a lengthy delve into the district's archives.
With a focus on showcasing the diversity of this region, the calendar includes snapshots of historical significance, like images of the Bayer-Werk Dormagen and Tagebau Garzweiler, peeks into the recent past such as the Fleher Bridge construction and Wevelinghoven's hop harvest, and scenes that highlight the Kreis' leisure charm, like sailing boats dotting the Kaarster See, winter sports around Schloss Dyck, and the Meerbusch-Büderich shooting festival.
Benjamin Josephs hints at sparking another photo contest in 2025, inviting eager shutterbugs to seize seasonal shots from across the Kreis. Though specific details are yet to be announced, the contest is anticipated to begin at the end of the year.
The victorious shutterbugs – Renate Uhl from Grevenbroich, Dietmar Steinhaus from Neuss, Verena Tokarski from Jüchen, Harald Hützen from Grevenbroich, Lilo Kapp from Neuss, Gert Behr from Jüchen, Heinz J. Zaunbrecher from Dormagen, and the St. Sebastianus-Bruderschaft Büdrich – can look forward to a yearly pass to Schloss Dyck, along with a handsome monetary reward of 100 euros. The Rhein-Kreis archive also lent its collection to the calendar, ensuring a well-rounded exploration of the Kreis' development.
The winners' dazzling snaps will grace the Rhein-Kreis' social media channels on Facebook and Instagram throughout the forthcoming year, allowing everyone to enjoy a piece of the photo contest magic.
