TU Braunschweig Marks 100 Years of High Voltage Tech, Welcomes Change

TU Braunschweig is marking significant milestones and events this autumn. The elenia Institute for High Voltage Technology and Energy Systems turns 100, while the university bids farewell to long-serving staff and welcomes new achievements.

The elenia Institute, established in 1925, will celebrate its centennial with the 'Festkolloquium elenia 100' on October 1 and 2. Prof. Christian Kehrt will present the institute's history, highlighting its influence on electrical energy research and its pioneering work on high-voltage direct current transmission systems and safety investigations.

Hannah Kreß, the editor of this newsletter, is completing her internship and will be leaving TU Braunschweig. Meanwhile, Michael Kraft, who has shaped the Botanical Garden for nearly four decades, is retiring.

Two start-ups from TU Braunschweig, LBR Engineering UG and Gaia Aerospace, have won the ThroughSTARTer Award. The 'City of the Future' research focus will host an informational event on October 9, starting at 2 pm in the teaching studio (PK 4.111) in the old building.

Speakers are sought for the online symposium 'Global Citizenship in Action' on November 19, with applications due by September 30. An online survey in the 'ProDiGI' project shows the value students place on international teaching offers for their future careers.
