Techem Acquires Majority Stake in Inexogy for Smart Meter Expansion
Techem, a prominent energy sector digital services provider, has acquired a majority stake in Inexogy Smart Metering. The collaboration aims to enhance energy system efficiency and sustainability by expanding smart meter infrastructure and leveraging data from 1.5 million smart meters.
Techem, with its extensive digitalization and decarbonization experience, and an international portfolio of over 13 million apartments, will support network operators in equipping households with intelligent metering systems and explore new customer segments like residential, commercial, and industrial properties.

The company's CEO, David Zimmer, anticipates a significant expansion of installation capacities this year and next. Together, they plan to create integrated overall solutions and efficiently implement the smart meter rollout.
The investment in this collaboration is around 320 million euros over five years, dedicated to smart meter installation and operation. Inexogy, in partnership with Techem, will install and operate 1.5 million intelligent metering systems over the next five years, driving the energy system towards enhanced efficiency and sustainability.
