Historic Building Signage Project Expands in Osterath
The "pro Osterath" association has taken a significant step forward in its efforts to preserve and share the history of the town's historic buildings. The association has recently installed a new sign for the Kröllgeshof, marking it as the first building in the "Historic Building Signage" project.
The "Historic Building Signage" project, which was initiated by the "pro Osterath" association, aims to make the history of multiple historic buildings visible. In addition to the Kröllgeshof, the project now includes the adult education center and the Osterath town hall. The installation of signs for these buildings is expected to be completed soon.
The installation of the Kröllgeshof sign was a collaborative effort with the owner's family and the heritage protection authority. Dr. Mike Kunze from the Meerbusch History Association contributed content for the Kröllgeshof sign, and he is likely to do the same for the signs of the adult education center and the Osterath town hall.
The "Historic Building Signage" project is not limited to these three buildings. Its goal is to make the history of historic buildings in Osterath visible, with the Osterath town hall being another significant addition to the project. The association has expanded the scope of the project to include more buildings, aiming to educate locals and visitors about the rich history of the town.
It is worth noting that the "pro Osterath" association was responsible for the installation of the Kröllgeshof sign, and they are likely to be responsible for the installation of signs for the adult education center and the Osterath town hall as well. The association has successfully completed at least two installations for the "Historic Building Signage" project, demonstrating their commitment to preserving and sharing the history of Osterath's historic buildings.
In 2019, a sign for the project was previously installed at the Gumpertzhof, marking another historic building that is part of the "Historic Building Signage" project.
While there is no current publicly available data about the status or timeline of the signage project in Osterath, interested individuals are encouraged to check local Osterath municipal announcements, heritage or cultural office releases, or contact the organizers or local government directly for the most accurate and recent information.
The "Historic Building Signage" project, in addition to the Kröllgeshof, now also includes the adult education center and the Osterath town hall, aiming to expand the visibility of the history of multiple historic buildings in Osterath. Other buildings are expected to be added to this project in the future, as the association works to educate locals and visitors about the rich history of the town through a home-and-garden approach, by installing informative signs on historic buildings.
