Sunshine, fresh air, and family fun await in Munich! Venture beyond the city's parks and discover enchanting trails that cater to strollers and those nursing hangovers.

Hiking with Littles: Tannenhütte

ESCALE the heights of the Wetterstein Mountains and delight in the breathtaking panorama from Tannenhütte in Garmisch-Partenkirchen. After a brief climb, you'll find a charming mountain hut serving scrumptious grub and beverages. Marvel at the Dreitorspitze and Zugspitze from the Hacker Pschorr suspension bridge, an attraction that won't leave kiddos wanting more adventure!

If you're pushing a stroller: Trail starts at Hasentalstraße 29 in Partenkirchen, a 1.5km uphill stroll. The Hasenboden plateau takes you to the Tannenhütte, which is another 300m away. The terrain slopes a bit and crosses the suspension bridge, all accessible with a stroller. Time for this excursion is around 30-40 minutes.

Get there by car to Hasentalstraße 29 or hop on a train to Garmisch-Partenkirchen and then a bus (9608) to the main street, walking the rest of the way to Hasentalstraße 29.

Recover, Regroup, and Take in Views: Schwarzenberg

Sore from last night's festivities? No problem! Feeling better after a cozy, sub-an-hour hike to Schwarzenberg. The almost entirely paved trail has a brief, steeper section to keep it interesting. Gaze at the Leitzachtal Mountains from the top, or catch a glimpse of Munich and the Chiemsee from the summit. Take a leisurely 40-minute descent for the journey back.

Find your starting point: Drive to Hundham (Fischbachau) and park, for example, at the Leonhardikapelle. Alternatively, hop aboard the train to Miesbach and then the bus line 9552 to Hundham GH Alter Wirt, Fischbachau stop.

Soak up the Sun: Mini-Hike Along Kupferbach

Glonn's (Ebersberg district) half-day trek is ideal for strollers and your furry friends. Begin your adventure at Wirtshaus zur Wiesmühle, where the trail showcases meadows, fields, and sunny stretches before venturing into the forest, where little ones can frolic near the Kupferbach. Choose to explore the Kupfertal for more terrain or retrace your steps. The tour totals 4 km.

Get there: Drive to Glonn (Wirtshaus an der Wiesmühle), or take the train to Neuperlach Süd and the bus to Glonn (455). From the train station square, it's a 13-minute walk to the Wirtshaus where the hike begins.
