The greenway stretching between Oswald-Kahnt-Ring and Müller-Ring in Leipzig-Lindenthal has undergone a significant transformation, aiming to provide a more enjoyable and safer environment for pedestrians and cyclists.

The renovation project, funded by the Leipzig city administration, has focused on enhancing the path and surrounding environment. Key improvements include the resurfacing of walking and cycling paths, the installation of improved lighting, and the addition of new benches and rest areas. Landscaping upgrades, such as the planting of new trees, shrubs, and flower beds, have also been implemented to beautify the corridor and support local biodiversity.

In an effort to prevent waterlogging and maintain path usability throughout the year, possible repairs or enhancements to the drainage systems have been considered. Future plans for the greenway include its expansion to connect with other parts of Leipzig’s cycling and pedestrian infrastructure, the implementation of additional safety features, and continued maintenance and periodic upgrades.

The renovation project, which cost approximately 370,000 euros, has also seen the creation of a picnic area and the installation of bike racks. Some of the lawn areas have been reseeded with regional seed to create colorful, species-rich meadows. The main connection in a north-south direction has been equipped with a new asphalt surface, and numerous shrubs and flowering perennials have been added to the greenway.

A notable addition to the greenway is a Calisthenics facility, made possible through financial support from the local council. Around 14,000 euros of heritage funds were used for its construction. Side paths, especially between Oswald-Kahnt-Ring and "Am Alten Flughafen", have received a water-bound surface with a side plank band.

The renovated greenway aims to improve the quality of stay and leisure options in the area, making it a more attractive destination for residents and visitors alike. With its improved infrastructure and enhanced amenities, the greenway is set to play a vital role in Leipzig's growing network of cycling and pedestrian routes.

The renovation project has extended beyond the pathways, incorporating a home-and-garden facelift to create a more inviting and enjoyable lifestyle experience. This includes the establishment of a picnic area, the installation of bike racks, and the creation of colorful, species-rich meadows through the reseeding of regional grasses.

The greenway now offers a Calisthenics facility, further enriching its home-and-garden atmosphere and encouraging active lifestyle pursuits, consolidating its significance in Leipzig's expanding home-and-garden and leisure infrastructure.
