The Garbsener Sternschnuppen project, an initiative by the leisure center of the city administration, has been running for six years and is in its sixth year. This project, aimed at teaching children about proper waste handling in a fun and interactive way, has been making a significant contribution to the community of Auf der Horst.

The tradition of recognising the Garbsener Sternschnuppen dates back to before the summer holidays. Every year, the children, who voluntarily collect litter in the district of Auf der Horst, are rewarded for their efforts. This year, Mayor Claudio Provenzano has decided to reward them with swimming pool vouchers.

Mayor Provenzano acknowledged the significant role the Garbsener Sternschnuppen play in maintaining cleanliness in Auf der Horst. He also expressed his gratitude towards the children, commenting on their commitment to their district. The mayor appreciated the efforts of the Garbsener Sternschnuppen, stating that they are not just cleaning the district, but also acting as multipliers, encouraging their peers to follow waste disposal guidelines.

Oliver Weckel, director of the leisure center, confirmed the children's commitment to the project. He mentioned that the children, hailing from Saturnring School, pull a wagon through the district of Auf der Horst every Monday. Weckel also highlighted the project's design, which was carefully crafted by the leisure center of the city administration to make waste management an enjoyable activity for children.

Despite the temporary halt due to the coronavirus pandemic, the Garbsener Sternschnuppen have been active since the beginning of the year. In recognition of their hard work, the local council has decided to fund a joint visit to the amusement park for the children. This is a small gesture of appreciation for the children's dedication to their community.

Mayor Provenzano thanked the Garbsener Sternschnuppen for their efforts, acknowledging their significant contribution to the community of Auf der Horst. He encouraged them to continue their good work and inspire others to follow in their footsteps. The Garbsener Sternschnuppen, with their commitment and enthusiasm, continue to set an example for their peers and the community at large.
