Recipients of Micro-Grants for 2025 National Trails Day® have been declared

Laid-Back Lowdown:

Hear ya! Our organization's announced the winners of the 2025 National Trails Day® micro-grant program! These community events will each snag a cool $1,500 to make June 7, 2025, a day to remember.

Based on their commitment to inclusivity, accessibility, and fostering meaningful community connections through outdoor experiences, here are the three recipients that'll make it big on National Trails Day®:

  1. Kewa Teens Reaching Unity Through Harmony Youth Council in Partnership with Santo Domingo Pueblo Tribal Programs

This crew's got an outing planned for the Santo Domingo Pueblo community that promises a hike, trail maintenance, a community feast, and water activities – all while lovingly learning about the area's ancestral significance from a Cochiti Pueblo rep. Respect and cultural awareness are the boss here.

  1. The Texas Neurofibromatosis Foundation

Get ready for an accessible nature escapade designed for Neurofibromatosis warriors and their families. This day promises everything they need to take on an enjoyable hike, learn about Texas's native flora, and recharge their spirits. A day away from the daily grind of Neurofibromatosis? Sounds like a real treat!

  1. City of Olympia, in Partnership with the Parks Stewardship Program

This gang's bringing the LGBTQIA+ community an event to share their passion for environmental restoration while feeling celebrated. So what’s on the agenda? They'll be whacking invasive vegetation, spreading wood chips, and enjoying some tunes, swag, and pal-tastic info from empowering organizations like PLFAG-Olympia and the South Sound YMCA. Register up at volunteer.olympiawa.gov.
