In 2024, Volkswohnung completed more new apartments than in the previous five years combined, totaling 283 new units. This significant addition to the city's housing stock is a testament to the organization's commitment to providing desperately needed and affordable housing in Karlsruhe.
Around a third of all new construction in the city was done by Volkswohnung, with 190 new apartments built directly in the city. These new apartments have been a welcome addition, particularly given the immense challenges on the housing market in Karlsruhe.

The work of Volkswohnung is a significant step towards addressing Karlsruhe's housing crisis. Yet, it's clear that more needs to be done to meet the city's growing housing needs.
