Chillin' at the Beach, but Only If You're a Guide Dog

Glancing through Ivan MAKEEV's lens, we see a lovely woman soaking up the sun alongside her furry companion. But if you're planning a visit to beaches in the Krasnodar region starting September 1, 2025, you'll want to leave Fido at home because pets will be banned. This new rule, introduced by the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations, presents a set of regulations to maintain order on beaches, including only guide dogs being granted access.

The official documentation lists further restrictions such as:- Prohibiting swimming beyond designated buoys- Avoiding homemade floatation devices- Engaging in sports in unauthorized areas- Abstaining from consuming alcohol or swimming under the influence- Never leaving children unsupervised near water

Unfortunately, the document doesn't include details on the penalties for violating these rules. Instead, beach owners will be tasked with maintaining cleanliness, regularly inspecting the ocean floor, and clearly demarcating swimming zones—using anything other than appropriate signage, such as bottles and cans, is strictly forbidden.

These regulations extend to ferries, floating bridges, ice crossings, and moorings for small vessels, remaining in effect until September 1, 2031.

Be extra vigilant when searching for accurate and up-to-date information. Checking the following sources will be your best bet:

  1. Official Russian Government Websites: Specifically, the Ministry of Emergency Situations or local Krasnodar regional government websites
  2. Local Tourism Boards: Since they provide regulations and guidelines relevant to tourists
  3. Local Municipality Announcements: These offer official updates from the Krasnodar region

Avoid facing unpleasant surprises by staying informed!
