Preparations intensify in Dubai for a secure and joyous Eid Al Fitr celebration
Dubai Municipality has rolled out comprehensive measures to ensure a safe, clean, and enjoyable Eid Al Fitr experience for residents and visitors in tourist areas and public facilities. The focus is on key areas such as food safety, public health, environmental protection, waste management, security, and targeted inspections.
Food Safety and Public Health
The municipality is conducting rigorous inspections of food outlets, including iftar and suhoor tents, to verify compliance with hygiene and safety standards. This includes close monitoring of food handling, preparation, and storage to prevent foodborne illnesses during large gatherings typical of Ramadan and Eid periods.
Environmental Protection and Waste Management
Dubai Municipality has implemented enhanced sanitation protocols and waste collection schedules in high-traffic public areas and tourist spots. This aims to manage the increased volume of waste generated during Eid celebrations, helping maintain cleanliness and reducing environmental impact.
Security and Targeted Inspections
Regular inspections and patrols by municipal inspectors ensure that commercial outlets and public facilities comply with regulations, such as proper placement of goods and unobstructed pedestrian access. Security coordination helps manage crowds at popular tourist destinations and Eid events, ensuring public safety and smooth flow of activities.
In addition, intensified inspection campaigns are underway for food safety compliance in entertainment zones and tourist attractions. Public health pest control measures have been reinforced in tourist hotspots, parks, and public spaces, with environmentally safe treatments being applied as needed.
Accessibility and Enjoyment
Enhanced accessibility features for people of determination and the elderly have been added to public beaches. These beaches are also equipped with security personnel, crowd control teams, and additional waste containers strategically placed for waste management.
Special Eid events and activities will be organized in Al Quoz Industrial Areas 3 and 4, and Muhaisnah 2, in collaboration with the Permanent Committee for Labour Affairs. Major attractions like Dubai Frame and Children's City are hosting a variety of entertainment activities.
Preparations and Personnel
Dubai Municipality is deploying 477 personnel for Eid Al Fitr preparations. The operational plan focuses on ensuring a safe, clean, and enjoyable holiday experience. Extensive sanitation efforts have been completed across Eid prayer areas, roads, beaches, and high-traffic zones.
Through these coordinated efforts, Dubai Municipality aims to uphold high standards of safety, hygiene, and environmental care, contributing to a pleasant and secure Eid Al Fitr experience for residents and visitors alike.
