Peek at the Latest: Petco's Reddy SoHo Flagship Store

Premium pet retailer, Petco, unveils flagship store in SoHo showcasing its exclusive in-house brand line.

In the heart of New York City, Petco has unveiled their newest venture - the glamourous Reddy SoHo flagship store. This store is dedicated to showcasing their premium private label, Reddy, designed for urban pet aficionados.

Situated in the trendy SoHo neighborhood, Reddy SoHo offers an immersive experience that goes beyond typical pet retail. The store features personalized services such as custom pet tags, product monogramming, and even a pet-friendly concierge to organize fun activities with your furry friends. Plus, it boasts a fresh nutrition station from JustFoodForDogs and more exciting amenities on the horizon.

Petco's Reddy SoHo marks their initial location tailored to a single brand. As urban dwellers have embraced pet ownership during these uncertain times, Petco is capitalizing on this trend by offering an upscale shopping experience catering to the modern pet parent.

The newest addition to Petco's New York City lineup represents the retailer's ambition to offer a compelling, memorable shopping experience. Back in 2019, their flagship store in Union Square opened the first-ever JustFoodForDogs in-store pet kitchen.

With the Reddy store, Petco looks to hold onto its newfound customers and appeal to a younger demographic who frequent the SoHo shopping scene. Brands like Allbirds, Bonobos, Warby Parker, and Glossier have already made their marks in this trendy neighborhood.

According to Petco, the Reddy brand has gained significant traction since its launch. Nick Konat, their chief merchandising officer, expressed his excitement about the new store: "Reddy's growth and popularity among active and trend-forward pet parents has been steady since launch, and it's only accelerated over the past 18+ months. This first-of-its-kind boutique will continue fueling that exploration by giving New York City pet parents a hub to bond, recharge and find the latest must-have gear to style their best lives together."

Petco aims to keep the momentum going, having recently re-entered the public markets. In their most recent quarter, the retailer reported a 19% increase in net sales compared to last year, thanks to a 20% hike in comparable sales. To maintain this positive trend and cater to the growing demand in the pet category, Petco has been expanding its offerings, including introducing its PupBox subscription service last month.
