People Express Their Unvarnished Opinions Regarding the Latest Piatti Launch
Piatti's Revamped: Danville's Favorite Italian Spot Gets a Face-lift
PI independant - Danville, Cali. – After three long months of renovations, Piatti, a local staple in Danville, has finally reopened its doors to the community.
With anticipation running high, many wondered if this facelift would threaten the restaurant’s casual ambiance, or if it would just be an expensive overhaul. We decided to check it out ourselves... but the real verdict came from the community.
The Plus Sides
Many patrons continue to rave about Piatti's food and atmosphere. Irene S. dubbed it a "great restaurant," while Susan M. called it a "must-visit in Danville."
Nancy M. appreciated the updates, saying the restaurant looks better, newer, and cleaner. Adele P. particularly admired the Eggplant Parmesan, and Judith F. was relieved that the changes weren't too dramatic.
Even with some adjustments in portion sizes and drink measurements, diners like Tammy C. still appreciated the flavors. Others, like Dorothy M., simply remarked, "Still great!"

The Down Sides
However, some customers weren't as enamored. Heather B. missed her favorite dish, Chicken Piccata, and many lamented the loss of its traditionally casual vibe.
Judith F. and Janice M. even went as far as to say they missed tablecloths, while Sandra H. found the noise level a problem, especially during busier meal times. In fact, noise control was a common complaint we heard from multiple patrons.
Our Take
While the renovations have left some long-time patrons feeling uneasy, most seem to agree that the spirit of the old Piatti remains. The most consensus we found was a sense of relief – relief that the changes weren't too extensive, the menu didn't undergo drastic revisions, and prices haven't skyrocketed (yet).
The biggest criticism we heard? The noise level. Because the restaurant is popular, and because it's located in an older building, it can get quite loud during peak hours. Our suggestion? Visit earlier in the evening (around 4:30 or 5:00) or dine on the back patio, situated beneath a beautiful redwood tree. The front patio has also been refurbished.
If you're planning a group outing, you can request seating in the back room, which features a fireplace and tends to be much quieter.
As for Heather B. and the missing Chicken Piccata? We concur – it was, indeed, a horrible loss. But hey, at least there's still that delicious Eggplant Parmesan to enjoy!
