Participation surge among youth in Kamchatka's "Preferred Literary Characters" competition
In the picturesque Kamchatka region, an exhibition-contest titled 'Favorite Heroes of Literary Works' has been captivating visitors at the Kamchatka Regional Art Museum. The event, which runs until March 9, features 200 artworks from 370 children and teenagers hailing from Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky and the region's districts.
The artworks, based on Russian folk tales and children's literary works, are a colorful and imaginative exploration of beloved characters. From the silver-hoofed deer from the Ural tales of Bashev, Winnie the Pooh, Karlsson, Pushkin's scholarly cat with a mermaid, a kitten named Gav, several Cheburashkas, heroes of Russian epic, to even Kuch in human size, the artworks showcase a diverse range of characters that have captured the hearts of young artists.
This exhibition is divided into three age categories: 7-9, 10-13, and 14-18, allowing for a fair and inclusive competition. The jury for this event consists of local cultural and literary experts from Kamchatka, as well as specialists from the Kamchatka Regional Art Museum and educators from educational institutions.
Antonina Cherkashina, the senior scientific employee of the Kamchatka Regional Art Museum, made the announcement of this exciting event. Visitors are encouraged to explore the vibrant and creative works on display, a testament to the artistic talent and imagination of Kamchatka's young artists. The winners of the contest will be determined by the jury in due course.
This exhibition is not just a celebration of literature and art, but also a platform for young artists to showcase their talents and share their interpretations of beloved characters. It serves as a reminder of the power of literature and art to inspire and captivate, and the potential of young artists to bring these stories to life in unique and imaginative ways.
