Park manager intends to initiate a beer garden event for the enjoyment of local residents at the park cafe.
The Neptune Fountain Beer Garden, nestled within the picturesque Old Botanical Garden in Munich, is gearing up for another season of summer festivities. From May 23rd to August 23rd, locals and tourists alike can enjoy the unique atmosphere this beer garden offers.
Located in the heart of the city, the beer garden is a popular spot for relaxation and socialising. It boasts beer table sets, sun loungers, various food and drink stands, and a colourful stage program. However, this year, the beer garden is undergoing a change to provide a more tranquil experience for the local residents living nearby on Sophienstraße.
Chris Lehner, the owner of the beer garden and the neighbouring Park Café, has made the decision to adjust the stage program to cater to the residents' desires for peace and quiet. On Sundays, the music volume will be slightly reduced, and jazz sounds will fill the air. On Mondays, the beer garden will host yoga sessions, offering a serene alternative to the usual lively atmosphere.
Lehner emphasises the beer garden's close connection with the neighbourhood and their commitment to open communication about volume levels. He has also been proactive in addressing resident concerns, such as cancelling a DJ performance on Sunday due to complaints, while ensuring that music continues to be a part of the beer garden's appeal on other days.
The changes are part of Lehner's broader vision to enhance the area around the Neptune Fountain. While some were initially apprehensive about the project, Lehner's efforts to listen to and address the concerns of the community have been well-received.
In addition to the changes at the beer garden, various measures have been implemented to make the Old Botanical Garden a safer and more livable space. These include the creation of a soccer field and a skate park, which have helped to reduce anti-social behaviour in the area.
The Neptune Fountain Beer Garden is open daily from 12 to 10 pm (weather permitting), offering a welcome respite for those seeking a taste of Munich's vibrant culture in a more peaceful setting. For more information on specific attractions or beer gardens in Munich, visitors are encouraged to contact local authorities or visitor centres.
The beer garden is no longer just a lively spot for food-and-drink and socialising, as it now offers a tranquil lifestyle environment for home-and-garden enthusiasts residing nearby on Sophienstraße. On Sundays, the beer garden's stage program will provide peaceful jazz music, while Mondays will offer a home-and-garden atmosphere with yoga sessions, blending wellness with Munich's vibrant culture.
