Online cyber competition, CODE19, combats Coronavirus in India, starting April 10th
The Silicon-Valley-based Motwani Jadeja Foundation is hosting an online hackathon called CODE19, in collaboration with Bengaluru-based HackerEarth. This 72-hour event, taking place from April 10, 2020, aims to address India's challenges related to the coronavirus pandemic and is being supported by the Government of India. Over 3,000 participants from various nationalities, ethnicities, and genders are expected to take part in this global initiative. Interested individuals and teams can sign up on www.code19.in before 6 pm IST on April 10. The hackathon's focus is on developing solutions quickly and applying them in everyday life. Participants will work on solutions through ideations, wireframes, designs, developments, and testing the prototype they are creating. They will be tasked with decoding the coronavirus outbreak's impact on India and encoding smart solutions to mitigate its challenges. Participants will collaborate with mentors, subject-matter specialists, data sources, and a network of collaborators. The projects will be categorized into eight specific themes: Medical treatment and testing, Travel and Tourism, Mitigation - Isolation, protection/masks, and social distancing in India, Social life, welfare, and awareness, Research and development, Open innovation for COVID-19, Education and awareness, and Industry. Under the Open Innovation category, participants are free to propose their own ideas, technologies, and innovative solutions, including COVID-19 datasets, apps for diagnosis, and more. The hackathon aims to find solutions to India's challenges against the coronavirus outbreak, and the winners will be announced at 9 pm on April 14. In addition to the intellectual stimulation, CODE19 will feature online sessions with business leaders, as well as Yoga and Meditation sessions to inspire participants. The winners of CODE19 will receive prizes worth US$10,000 to realize their solutions. Public voting will take place at the end of the event to assess the most exciting projects. Mentors and guides will assist participants in sharpening their product ideas and converting them into successful products that will aid India's fight against COVID-19. So, if you have an innovative idea or solution that could help India in its battle against the coronavirus pandemic, sign up for CODE19 today!
