No signs of boredom found at the Ailinger Vacation Games

In the picturesque town of Ailingen, the summer of 2023 was filled with excitement and education for its young residents. The Ailinger Ferienspiele, a 22-year-old tradition, took centre stage for six weeks, offering a diverse range of activities that catered to every child's interests.

The event program, meticulously planned by the municipality of Ailingen, was a hit, with the holiday games fully booked due to high interest. One of the highlights was the opportunity for pizza lovers to make their own pizzas at the Ailinger bakery. The children's faces lit up as they crafted their culinary masterpieces, and those who succeeded received the coveted "Seehasen Young Star Certificate."

The Ailinger holiday games weren't just about fun and games; they were also an opportunity for learning. Children had the chance to embark on a discovery tour, where they were introduced to large, live centipedes, observed various creatures under microscopes, and learned about plants at the "Islandponyhof Isenburg."

The children also gained insights into the world of first aid, thanks to sessions led by the German Red Cross and the Verein Neuer Breitengrad. An interactive exercise with the Ailinger fire department was another popular learning experience, where children learned about the tasks of the fire department.

For the more adventurous, there were thrilling experiences such as a tour through the Zeppelin NT world. Here, children learned about the airship's construction, propulsion, and history, and were even treated to the sight of a second airship landing almost directly next to the group, making the day unforgettable.

The Ailinger holiday games also offered a variety of sports activities, including badminton, taekwondo, yoga, table tennis, and more. For those with a musical inclination, there were opportunities to test large landsknecht drums and real fanfares at the Seehasen Fanfare Corps.

The cultural side of Ailingen was not left out. Children attended a theater play "Das Sams" at the Langenargener festival, and a reading hour was organized by Medienhaus am See at the Ailingen wave pool. Here, children listened to a story outdoors before some of them cooled off with a dip in the water.

The success of the Ailinger Ferienspiele 2023 would not have been possible without the dedication of the helpers. They ensured that every child had a safe, fun, and educational experience, making this summer one that the children of Ailingen will remember for years to come.
