Nightly Gathering of Wine Elites Happens at SoHo Restaurant
In the heart of SoHo, New York City, a unique dining concept has been making waves in the city's vibrant food and drink scene. Niche Niche, a collaborative pop-up dining experience, offers more than just a meal - it's an immersive journey into the world of wine and culinary excellence.
Founded in 2019 by Ariel Arce, Kenneth Crum, and Chef Aaron Lirette, Niche Niche originally started as a weekly dinner party. After a brief hiatus, it has returned with renewed vigour. The trio, along with other notable collaborators, curate this one-of-a-kind experience, which takes place at various locations, such as Heroes in SoHo, rather than a fixed restaurant in the West Village.
At the helm of the culinary creations is Chef Aaron Lirette, while host Zachary Weiss manages the events. The dinners are enriched by the presence of special guests or contributors like models, musicians, and stylists, who add an extra layer of excitement to the experience. Bambi Grimotes, the maitre’d, curates the music and atmosphere, ensuring a perfect ambiance for the evening.
In June, the wine selection at Niche Niche will be curated by a panel of experts, including Victoria James of Korean steakhouse Cote, Katie Parla, and Talia Baiocchi, among others. This is part of Niche Niche's mission to invite experts from the wine industry to educate attendees and provide a broader perspective on wine.
Each guest at Niche Niche is photographed with a Polaroid, creating a permanent presence in the space. For those who prefer a more casual experience, a la carte reservations and walk-ins are also available. Wine tastings and dinners at Niche Niche cost $40 each, and dinner is optional.
Ariel Arce, the founder of Niche Niche, is a wine enthusiast with a special interest in Champagne. In addition to Niche Niche, Arce also runs Air's Champagne Parlor and Tokyo Record Club. Arce opened Niche Niche to showcase a varied selection of wines and, through it, has expanded the network of people involved with the concept beyond friends.
Looking forward, Arce is planning to open a fourth venue, Special Club, billed as a return to the musical supper club. This new venture promises to continue the tradition of innovative and immersive dining experiences that Niche Niche has become known for.
Niche Niche is not a home but a carefully planned space designed to create a warm, inviting atmosphere for all who attend.
