Nature Trek through Wildlife Habitats
Get ready for an exciting outdoor adventure! The Suffolk Wildlife Trust's Welcome Day event includes a guided walk at Lackford Lakes Nature Reserve on Saturday, 25 October 2025. The walks will take place at 10:30 AM and 2:00 PM.
The meeting point for the event is the Visitor Centre at Lackford Lakes Nature Reserve, Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk, IP28 6HX. To secure your spot, booking is essential and can be done through the provided booking process, which includes accepting the event terms and conditions. The cost is £5 per person, but it's free for members. If you decide to join the Suffolk Wildlife Trust on the day, your entry fee will be refunded[1].
Participants are advised to bring appropriate walking shoes or boots, as the trails may not be paved or tarmacked. Binoculars are recommended to enhance your wildlife viewing experience, but they can be hired onsite if you prefer[1].
For those who are curious about the charity's work and nature conservation efforts at Lackford Lakes, staff and volunteers will be available to discuss these topics during the event. There's also a café offering refreshments[1].
Please note that dogs are only allowed on certain trails to protect wildlife. Assistance dogs are allowed on most trails, but other dogs are permitted only on the Sayer's Breck trail and Church Walk, excluding the Visitor Centre, blue Trail near the lakes or hides[1].
For more information, contact the Lackford Lakes centre at lackford.engagement@our website or call our Lackford Lakes centre phone number. Detailed facilities at Lackford Lakes are not provided, but parking information will be available closer to the event date[1].
