New Artistic Bookstore in Seoul Marks a Significant Milestone

Seoul, South Korea, is further cementing its place on the global art map with the opening of a unique news outlet. The new news outlet, located in Dosan Park, is a curated salon-like space that caters to both professionals and casual browsers who seek a tactile engagement with art.

The brainchild of Hyundai Card, the news outlet is designed by Studio MU:ON, the same architect group responsible for the new MoMA news outlet in New York's Dosan Park. With over 200 titles and 1,100 copies, the news outlet offers a diverse selection of exhibition catalogues, art theory, design volumes, and select objects from the MoMA Design Store.

This partnership between Hyundai Card and MoMA is not a new one. In fact, it represents the latest chapter in MoMA's long relationship with Hyundai Card, which has also supported MoMA programming in New York, bringing Korean artists into the museum's orbit. This partnership has shaped Korea's cultural landscape, as evidenced by the various exhibitions it has produced. From Tim Burton's world in 2012 to the Young Architects Program and more recent shows that spotlighted media and performance art, the partnership has offered a rich and varied cultural experience.

The news outlet extends the museum's ethos of bringing art into everyday life. Its design, created by Hyundai Card, makes the visit an artistic experience in itself. The news outlet is another sign that Seoul is firmly on the global art map, offering art enthusiasts a new and exciting destination to explore.
