Take a wild ride with Peer Kusmagk (50), well-known for his stint in "Gute Zeiten, schlechte Zeiten" and his hosting gig on "Sat.1-Frühstuckfernsehen". The dude ain't afraid to mix it up! From acting to radio, running a French restaurant, and even releasing tunes with a buddy, Kusmagk's life is a rollercoaster ride!
Morning Show Duo, with a Shot at Love
In 2004, Peer teamed up with his then-wife Charlotte Karlinder (50) to co-host a popular morning show. When work and love collided, they ended up moderating separately following a "love crisis". The couple sealed their separation in mid-2005.
Post-Charlotte, Kusmagk ventured into the world of gastronomy, running a French restaurant called "La Raclette" in Berlin. But, as fate would have it, a fire caused by a cable short circuit in 2010, necessitated a complete renovation. Seven years later, he bid adieu to this project, feeling it demanded more time than he could fully commit.
His stint as a restaurateur also led to a lengthy battle with alcoholism. Kusmagk admitted to consuming up to three bottles of wine daily. However, his participation in RTL's jungle camp in 2011 served as a turning point, helping him realize his thoughts always circled around alcohol when it wasn't readily available. He finally sought treatment for alcohol addiction in 2014.
From Alcoholism to U40 and Fatherhood
Bye-bye restaurant, hello love! In 2016, Kusmagk met surfer Janni Hönscheid (34) on a reality show and the rest, as they say, is history. The couple tied the knot in no time, and their son Emil Ocean was born in early August 2017, followed by daughter Yoko in July 2019, and another son Merlin in September 2021.
Even with a family, Kusmagk is a ball of energy! They love to travel and had moved around a bit. After spending some time on Mallorca, they relocated to Denmark in 2024, where they spent a year renovating an old farm.
The Farm's Transformation and an Uncertain Future
The farm renovation is nearly complete - but the family seems to be up for another move. Janni recently announced the sale of the farm on her Instagram. Personal reasons have driven this decision. "Life is change, and sometimes you have to make tough decisions." Where they're headed next, remains a mystery. But one thing is certain, life with Peer Kusmagk is never, ever dull!
