New Modern Fire Station in Mühlheim: A Green and Sustainable Project

The city of Mühlheim is set to welcome a new fire station, slated for completion by summer 2025. Located on Anton-Dey-Straße, this single-story building is being erected using modular wood frame construction.

The design of the fire station aims to promote biodiversity in the area. Outdoor spaces will feature trees, shrubs, and a rainwater cistern for watering. A biotope made of deadwood and rubble stones is being created on the eastern edge of the property to provide habitat for lizards and other small animals.

The new fire station will accommodate three emergency vehicles: a rescue vehicle, an additional rescue vehicle, and a mobile emergency care unit. The thoughtful layout of the rooms is designed to create optimal working conditions for the rescue service personnel.

To ensure energy efficiency, the building has a continuous attic that conceals the building's technical facilities on the green roof and contributes to energy supply through a photovoltaic system. An external air heat pump is used to heat the building. However, no specific details regarding the cost, completion date, or vehicle allocation have been disclosed.

The Mühlheim fire station team currently handles around 2,600 deployments per year, as stated by District Administrator Oliver Quilling. The vehicle hall provides sufficient space for the emergency vehicles, ensuring smooth operations.

While details about the cost and exact size of the fire station are not available, it is clear that sustainability and ecological aspects are at the forefront of this project. The limited sealed surfaces and focus on biodiversity further emphasize this commitment.

For those interested in more precise details, we recommend consulting the official city of Mühlheim website, the local fire department administration, or recent municipal project publications. These are typically the best sources for up-to-date information on infrastructure developments.

The fire station under construction in Mühlheim, due for completion in summer 2025, is not only modern but also eco-friendly, focusing on sustainable living. Besides the green roof and photovoltaic system, the project includes a home-and-garden lifestyle transformation, featuring a biotope and outdoor spaces with trees and shrubs, promoting Other forms of wildlife in the area.
