Milan's MoscaPartners unveil a poignant investigation into the concept of 'migration' through poetry
MoscaPartners, a visionary force in design installations, has returned to Milan's historic Palazzo Litta for a group exhibition during Milan Design Week 2025. The theme of this year's exhibition, titled "Design Variations," emphasizes innovation, creativity, and a global selection of design works, offering visitors a reflective and immersive experience.
The exhibition showcases a collective of varied design expressions, each presenting a fresh and imaginative take on contemporary design. The diverse participants, hailing from 12 countries, offer unique interpretations of the theme, creating a multifaceted dialogue that invites immersive and thoughtful engagement.
One of the standout pieces is Byoung Cho's installation, 'Nobody Owns the Land: Earth, Forest, Mahk'. This central piece transforms the main courtyard into a field of finely crushed red Verona marble, inviting reflection on land, identity, and coexistence. Visitors are encouraged to engage with the installation on an emotional level, with sighted guests experiencing it blindfolded on Tuesdays, and blind or visually impaired guests on Wednesdays and Thursdays.
Other notable works include Adrenalina's modular sofa, designed with accessibility in mind, and Marrimor's revitalized 'Toof' tables, inspired by Vancouver's rain puddles. Italian brand CultEvo presents 'Cultifutura', a vertical farming concept for everyday life, while Base Times showcases traditional craftsmanship from Japan's Kawaguchi district.
Officine Tamborrino and MCA Design reflect on the 'migration of memory' with 'Memè', a contemporary take on the old Italian credenza. Luc Druez's installation, 'Golden Light Cage', traps the eye in a luminous web made from reclaimed materials and semi-precious metal threads.
The diversity of participants reflects the reality of a world where creativity knows no boundaries. The exhibitions at Palazzo Litta are a place for dialogue, where visitors can immerse themselves in different design languages and perspectives.
