Mexican Day of the Dead Celebration at Oversea Museum Bremen, scheduled for November 2nd.

Join us for a captivating evening as we delve into the rich traditions and vibrant folk festival that is the Mexican Day of the Dead at the Übersee-Museum Bremen. On November 2nd, from 5 PM to 10 PM, this unique event will offer a variety of activities for all ages.

Admission for adults is 12 euros, and for children, it's 6 euros. The evening will feature a short tour and talk, explaining the fascinating traditions surrounding the Mexican Day of the Dead, as well as the beautifully decorated altars that are a central part of the celebration.

Visitors will have the opportunity to participate in hands-on workshops, where they can craft Cempasúchil paper flowers for the Ofrenda, create skeleton marionettes, and paint paper skulls with acrylic paints. For those who wish to fully immerse themselves in the spirit of the Day of the Dead, face painting will be available to transform visitors into Calaveras (skulls).

Throughout the evening, various traditional dance performances will enchant the audience, including the Tecuan dance, La Bruja dance, the Dance of the Weeping Women, La Llorona, and the highlight of the night, the Dance of the Calaveras.

For more detailed information about the event, we recommend visiting the Übersee-Museum Bremen's official website or contacting the organising bodies: Asociación Cultural Mexicano-Alemana "Tiahui" (ACuMAT), the Honorary Consulate of Mexico in Bremen, and the Tiahui México dance group.
