Maritime timekeepers club - Care to join?

The Maritime Association of Watch and Clock Collectors is an independent entity, distinct from the author's blog, which reaches clock enthusiasts worldwide. The author, who has attended NAWCC (National Association of Watch and Clock Collectors) meetings in Ottawa and the 2019 NAWCC National Convention, believes that there are clock enthusiasts in the Maritime provinces who would be interested in forming a local club.

Currently, the closest NAWCC chapter is in Montreal, Canada, and there are at least 3 active chapters in Ontario. However, there is no active NAWCC representation in the Maritime provinces of Canada (Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, and Prince Edward Island). The reasons for this absence could be due to factors such as limited local membership or interest, geographic challenges, or a less historical presence of watch and clock collecting activities compared to other regions. To get a precise answer, contacting NAWCC directly or local antique watch and clock communities in the Maritime provinces would be necessary.

The Maritime Association of Watch and Clock Collectors, a club of like-minded individuals from various parts of the Maritimes, held its first meeting on November 2-3, 2019, in Prince Edward Island, Canada. The gathering included an educational component, a lesson in bushing.

If there is sufficient interest, the author proposes forming a club and potentially exploring charter membership with NAWCC. Being a member of NAWCC has proven to be beneficial for the author, as they received a 10-year NAWCC member pin.

The Maritime Association of Watch and Clock Collectors does not offer a subscription service for the latest posts, but the author does provide an option to subscribe to their blog for the latest updates. The club does not have any online sharing options such as Facebook, LinkedIn, Tumblr, Pinterest, Reddit, WhatsApp, or X.

The author encourages clock enthusiasts in the Maritime provinces to contact them at [email protected] if they are interested in getting together to discuss clocks and watches. The author invites readers to join this potential movement, and they offer a rating and sharing option for the blog post.

Vintage clocks are a potential focus for the Maritime Association of Watch and Clock Collectors, as they hosted an educational session on bushing at their inaugural meeting. This local club, formed by clock enthusiasts in the Maritime provinces, could benefit from charter membership with NAWCC, similar to the author's experience with a 10-year NAWCC member pin.

As the author suggests, the formation of this club could help bring together home-and-garden enthusiasts in the Maritimes who are passionate about mechanical clocks, fostering a lifestyle of antique watch and clock collecting in the region.
