Loop Launches Pilot in Mid-Atlantic to Reduce Dog Food Packaging Waste

Loop, a revolutionary shopping system from TerraCycle, has launched its pilot program in the Mid-Atlantic region. The initiative, focusing on reusable, refillable packaging, has partnered with Rossmann and Old Navy to reduce waste in dog food packaging and promote a circular economy.

Loop's launch in the Mid-Atlantic region, covering New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland, and Washington, D.C., aims to transform the dog food sector. The company, a subsidiary of TerraCycle, specialises in recycling hard-to-recycle waste.

Rossmann, a collaborator with Loop, is committed to recyclable packaging and the principles of the circular economy. Through this partnership, pet parents can now replenish dog treat shipments with minimal packaging waste. Old Navy, a well-known pet food brand, is one of the first to join this innovative venture. WellPet, the maker of Old Navy, previously launched a recycling program for pet food packaging in the U.S., demonstrating its commitment to sustainability.

Old Navy, known for its all-natural dog treats, has partnered with Loop to design reusable packaging. This collaboration marks a significant step towards reducing pet food packaging waste. The Mid-Atlantic region pilot program, involving Rossmann and Old Navy, signals the start of a circular economy in the dog food sector.
