In Lahore, the district administration has implemented six designated cattle markets for the sale and purchase of sacrificial animals during Eid-ul-Azha, aiming to provide a well-organized and hygienic environment for traders and the general public. The permanent market has been established at Shahpur Kanjran, while temporary markets are set up at Haveli Markaz near Spring Mill, Sports Complex, LDA City, Mouza Nain Sukh, and Burki Road.

To ensure quality service delivery, essential facilities such as tents, fodder, toilets, mobile ATM units, complaint cells, information desks, electricity, standby generators, and clean drinking water are being provided by the Punjab Cattle Market Management Company. The Punjab Police are responsible for security, while traffic police manage vehicular flow, and the Lahore Waste Management Company is tasked with cleaning operations and debris removal, particularly from the Saggian site.

Deputy Commissioner Syed Musa Raza visited one of the markets to review the ongoing operations and assess the facilities. He inspected key facilities, including clean drinking water, sanitation services, animal shelters, and parking areas, and directed officials to further enhance service delivery. The district administration has directed the Punjab Cattle Market Management Company to ensure uninterrupted provision of essential services at all designated sites.

The sale and purchase of sacrificial animals are only allowed at officially designated cattle markets. Burning the heads and feet of sacrificial animals in public places, disposing of animal waste and offal into water bodies, and public display of firearms and ammunition are strictly prohibited under Section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, which has been enforced across Punjab from June 5 to June 11.

Additionally, citizens are urged to donate the skins of sacrificial animals only to entities registered with the Punjab Charity Commission. Donation of hides to banned organizations or their affiliates is prohibited, and only verified registered bodies are permitted to collect hides. Authorities and law enforcement agencies have been instructed to ensure strict implementation of these directives.

These regulations are in place to maintain peace, protect public health, and ensure environmental cleanliness during Eid-ul-Azha, addressing potential risks and disturbances that could arise from unregulated sale and handling of sacrificial animals.

A trader, seeking a comfortable lifestyle, might find the new home-and-garden store in Lahore an ideal place for shopping, as the designated cattle market also offers essential facilities such as clean drinking water and sanitation services. After a long day of trading, the trader could return to a peaceful home, knowing that strict regulations in place during Eid-ul-Azha ensure a secure and clean environment for all.
