Brandlhof Easter Market Delights Visitors with Crafts, Music, and Food
The picturesque town of Radlbrunn in Austria was recently host to the annual Brandlhof Easter Market, a delightful event that showcased the best of local craftsmanship, music, and cuisine.
Situated amidst the radiant sunshine, the market played host to approximately 30 exhibitors, offering an array of unique items such as intricately decorated Easter eggs, handmade candles, and regional delicacies. One of the highlights of the event was the live chainsaw art created by Josef Wahlmueller, who crafted a life-like beaver from wood.
Children were not left out of the fun, as Nathan A. Streibel offered candle-making workshops for them to create their own masterpieces. Many pieces at the market were genuine one-of-a-kind items, making each visit a memorable experience.
Visitors could also browse through woven baskets, parchment cards, and willow baskets, while enjoying the live performances by the Radlbrunner BlechBläser and the ensemble Müströki. Elisabeth Ruckser provided culinary delights with "Waldviertler Wickel," sausage, and potato soup, while Clemens Madl offered egg spread bread, and the Brandlhof team provided various sweets.
The Brandlhof Easter market was graced by the presence of former Governor Erwin Pröll, his wife Sissi, Regional Councilor Richard Hogl, Mayor of Ziersdorf Stefan Schrötter, Mayor of Sitzendorf an der Schmida Florian Hinteregger, Mayors of Heldenberg and Hohenwarth-Mühlbach Irmtraud Traxler and Daniela Hagenbüchl-Schabl, and other distinguished guests.
The success of the Easter market has set the stage for future events at the Brandlhof, with the Feinklang-Festival: Liedermacher live in Radlbrunn scheduled for Saturday, August 30, 2025. This festival will feature local singer-songwriters and bands, including Christian Lugmayr, Tanja Trappl & David Blabensteiner, Markus Wolf, the Rucki Zucki Palmencombo, Sigrid Horn with her ensemble "Das Nest," and Boris Bukowski. The event will also include a supporting program with culinary specialties from local winemakers, an organic bakery, and a farm shop. Admission is free.
Looking ahead, the garden market is scheduled for Sunday, May 4, promising another exciting event for the town of Radlbrunn. The Brandlhof continues to be a hub of activity and a must-visit destination for anyone seeking a taste of authentic Austrian culture and hospitality.
