Landshut's First-Graders Get Healthy Start with Organic Lunch Boxes
Landshut's first-graders received a healthy start to their school day, with around 2,500 organic lunch boxes handed out. The initiative, supported by numerous sponsors and volunteers, aimed to promote healthy eating and regional organic products.
The reusable lunch boxes were packed by numerous volunteers, setting a sustainable tone. Each box contained fresh organic bread, fresh cheese, a carrot, and apple chips, all sourced from the Landshut region. This year, the action took an additional step with specially created teaching material developed by teacher Kirstin Weber, focusing on pedagogical aspects.
Deputy district administrator Sebastian Hutzenthaler and mayor Werner Klanikow personally handed over the lunch boxes to the eager young recipients. The event was organized by Veronika Stanglmayr, organic model region manager, in collaboration with the Landshut district group of the Bund Naturschutz.
The organic lunch box action successfully introduced first-graders in Landshut to the benefits of healthy, regional organic food. With the help of teaching material and reusable boxes, the initiative set a strong foundation for sustainable habits and awareness.
