Introducing the 2026 Coachman Laser 480 Xtra and Laser 845 Xtra

The British caravan manufacturer, Coachman, has unveiled its latest offerings for the 2026 season – the Laser 480 Xtra and the Laser 845 Xtra. Both models come with significant updates, catering to different needs and preferences.

The 2026 Coachman Laser 480 Xtra is an 8ft-wide, single-axle caravan that accommodates 4 berths. This model boasts a fixed end washroom, a parallel front lounge, a central kitchen, and a media wall. The 480 Xtra measures 6.43m in length and is designed with a warm ‘Primavera’ wood interior, matt black fittings, and Italian-style kitchen splashbacks. This model is revolutionary as a two-berth 8ft-wide caravan with a spacious 8ft width enabling a large double bed conversion from parallel settees [2][3][4][5].

In comparison, the 2025 Coachman Laser 845 Xtra is a larger, twin-axle model with 4 berths, a mid washroom, and an L-shaped lounge. It has a length of approximately 7.9m and shares the 8ft width and internal height with the 480 Xtra. The 2025 model features an updated shower design with new black pivot doors and a layout aimed at combining space with practical mid washroom placement [3][4].

Key differences lie in the size and axle configuration. The 480 Xtra offers a more compact single axle option with cutting-edge interior design and the innovative 8-foot-wide two-berth layout, while the larger twin axle 845 Xtra is focused on spacious family layouts with mid-washroom access [2][3][4].

Pricing for the 2026 Laser 480 Xtra starts at around £29,995, while pricing for the 2025 Laser 845 Xtra was not explicitly listed but is expected to be higher due to size and dual axles [2].

Other updates within the Laser and Lusso ranges include kitchens in the Laser range now coming with pull-out wire baskets in the lower unit. The single axle 545 Xtra now has separate "Jack and Jill" doors in front of its rear inline island bed, with a washbasin on a central pillar in between them. Coachman has also introduced a new shower cabinet with new saloon doors in the single axle 545 Xtra and twin axle 845 within the Laser range [1].

Lusso models now come with a Truma air conditioning unit as standard, and they run on an uprated two-piece Al-Ko chassis, increasing their Maximum Technical Permissible Laden Mass (MTPLM) to 2200kg [1]. Lussos also feature the "Primavera" wood colour, have pull-out kitchen baskets, and are ready for 5G Wi-Fi [1].

In the Coachman line-up for the 2026 season, the UK's first 8ft-wide two berth caravan, the Laser 480 Xtra, makes its debut. The end washroom VIP 565 has been changed so that the wardrobe is now contained within the end washroom. VIP continues as a seven-model range [1].

Meanwhile, two caravan dealers have switched to storage, including one based in Liskeard, which was the only Sprite dealer for the whole of Cornwall at one point [1].

Bailey has also launched the new Black Edition Phoenix and Pegasus ranges.
