Information for the general public regarding the recently established residential development on Schloßallee, Dusseldorf Eller
The Eller Residential Park, a joint initiative between the Protestant Church of Düsseldorf, the Mirjam Church Community, and the city, is moving forward with four architectural firms in the running for the project.
The competition, an anonymous, two-phase process, initiated earlier this year, has seen six planning offices eliminated after the first meeting of the jury. The remaining four firms will now refine their designs and present their revised concepts by June 13th at 2 pm.
The site for the Eller Residential Park is a 11,300 square meter plot located behind the protected Schlosskirche and bounded by Schlossallee in the northeast and Heidelberg Street in the southwest. The designs take into account trees classified as worth preserving and have a green space of around 50%.
The architects are given free rein in their planning, with the only requirement being that the plans must be ecologically, economically, and socially sustainable. They are also encouraged to incorporate the suggestions and criticism of the Eller residents into their detailed plans.
The Church Circle, the future owner of the Eller Residential Park, is committed to building 50% publicly funded housing. The city of Düsseldorf and the Church Circle enjoy excellent cooperation, with the city responsible for creating planning permission and issuing building permits.
The goal of the Eller Residential Park project is to build apartments. The Church Circle prefers to keep the apartments in their own portfolio for a long time, ensuring a long-term partnership with the city.
The preliminary review by the city's offices will begin after the submission of the revised concepts, and the jury will meet on June 30th to announce the winning design. Construction costs for the Eller Residential Park have not been determined yet, as the winning design is still unknown.
