Guerlain Unveils Revamped Aqua Allegoria Lineup
Sustainable Scent Solutions: Guerlain's Refresh of Aqua Allegoria and Nerolia Vetiver
For the past 17 years, the iconic Bee Bottle of Guerlain's Aqua Allegoria has been a trusted pick. Now, it's more eco-friendly than ever, boasting a reformulated recipe containing up to 95% natural-origin ingredients. This refreshed product reflects LVMH-owned Guerlain's commitment to eco-innovation on a global scale.
Guerlain Steps Up its Sustainability Game
In the revamped Aqua Allegoria, the alcohol base is sourced exclusively from organic farming, specifically beetroot alcohol produced in Chartres, France. By choosing this environmentally-friendly farming method, Guerlain ensures its raw materials are traceable, renewable, and protect biodiversity. The brand's suppliers adhere to the guidelines of the Union for Ethical BioTrade (UEBT), an independent organization Guerlain joined in June 2021. Currently, 100% of their 40 key raw materials are sourced sustainably.
Reducing Carbon Footprints
Guerlain's signature Bee Bottle has received a eco-friendly makeover as well. Reborn as a refillable format, the new Bee Bottle includes 15% recycled glass, optimized golden hardware, and an enhanced spray nozzle. Plus, it offers a 200ml non-drip refill, making it compatible with Aqua Allegoria's 75ml and 125ml formats. By doing so, Guerlain slashes carbon emissions by -60% compared to the previous version, reduces glass use by -24%, and plastics use by -44%.
The Garden as a Canvas
Guerlain teamed up with photographer, activist, and author Arthus Bertrand to create the campaign film "The World Is Our Garden." Bertrand, renowned for his efforts in raising environmental awareness, is the author of 'Earth from Above' and Founder of the GoodPlanet Foundation, an organization that Guerlain previously partnered with to educate younger generations about bee protection and conservation.
The film emphasizes the beauty of seasonal French flowers and their "slow flower" approach, which focuses on locally-sourced, seasonal blooms that respect natural biorhythms. The campaign is part of the larger "Sustainable Board" project, serving as the catalyst for long-term strategic actions focused on sustainability and biodiversity.
Experience the Sweet Aroma of Nerolia Vetiver
Guerlain continues to blossom with the introduction of a new fragrance—Nerolia Vetiver. Inspired by the Mediterranean landscape and the aromas of the island of Ischia in Naples, this rich scent features Calabrian Neroli heart notes, along with zesty petitgrain and basil top notes, fig accord, and vetiver base notes. With more than 95% natural-origin ingredients, Nerolia Vetiver is a testament to Guerlain's dedication to sustainability.
The arrival of Nerolia Vetiver increases the Aqua Allegoria collection to a grand total of 13 fragrances, which include Nettare Di Sole, Flora Salvaggia, Rosa Rossa, Flora Cherrysia, Pera Granita, Granada Salvia, Mandarine Basilic, Pampelune, Bergamote Calabria, Orange Soleia, Herba Fresca, and the Bergamot Shower Gel and Body Lotion.
Thierry Wasser and Delphine Jelk, Guerlain's Master Perfumers, crafted Nerolia Vetiver, and Jelk expressed her enthusiasm for the new scent: "We designed the fragrance around this very green, very floral, truly delicious Calabrian Neroli. Nerolia Vetiver is, first and foremost, an infatuation with Calabrian Neroli. It is the love of Italy, its landscapes, and its art of living. It is La Dolce Vita!"
