Future Awaits Cultural Centre at Peace Bridge: Ambitious Plans for Prosperity Unveiled

The redevelopment of Munich's Backstage Arena is moving forward, with plans for a multifunctional hall, a techno club, a cultural center, and the installation of solar panels.

Located near Friedenheimer Bridge, the Backstage Arena is set to undergo major renovations, with construction scheduled to begin in 2026, subject to approvals. The estimated completion date for the project is 2029.

Architect Michael Iking, referring to the redevelopment as the "final Backstage," has revealed that the goal is for the redeveloped arena to generate as much energy as it needs. This will be achieved through the installation of solar panels.

The redeveloped Backstage Arena is planned to be a multifunctional hall with up to 4,000 seats. The grounds will be greened as part of the redevelopment, and a parking garage will be constructed.

In addition to the arena, the redevelopment plans also include a cultural center and a techno club. The cultural center, Backstage, will remain at its current location, surrounded by redevelopment plans around Paketposthalle.

The entire grounds of the redevelopment belong to Backstage. The cost of redeveloping the Backstage Arena is approximately 35 million euros, although specific information on the construction timeline or estimated cost is not yet available.

However, it's important to note that the project is facing uncertainty due to surrounding redevelopment plans. For the most accurate and up-to-date information, it is recommended to check with official sources or local news outlets that cover Munich's infrastructure projects.

Backstage CEO Hans-Georg Stocker expressed his excitement about the redevelopment, stating that the goal is for the redeveloped Backstage Arena to be a sustainable and vibrant addition to Munich's cultural landscape.

The Backstage Arena's redevelopment, including a cultural center and a techno club, aims to make it a sustainable and vibrant part of Munich's cultural landscape, aligning with principles of sustainable living. Additionally, the grounds will feature home-and-garden improvements, such as the installation of solar panels for energy generation, contributing to a more sustainable lifestyle.
