Frankfurt's Main Station Area Gets Modernization Plan

An upcoming public event is scheduled in Frankfurt am Main on Thursday, October 9th, at 6 PM, focused on the development plan for the Main Station Area. The event will be held at BC III, Willy-Brandt-Platz 13, Ground Floor. The plan, slated for completion and submission to the committees by the first or early second quarter of 2026, aims to create a modern, sustainable, and livable neighborhood. It includes provisions for around 600 residential units, with 30% earmarked for social housing, and emphasizes green spaces and sustainable concepts like the expansion of Park Viewegs Garden and resource-efficient use of rainwater and energy. The plan also prioritizes sustainable mobility with high-performance public transport and bicycle parking facilities, and car parking spaces will be concentrated in neighborhood garages.

The public engagement process has commenced, and the planning documents can be viewed online at www.ourwebsite.de/public-building-plans and on info PCs in the Old Town Hall. Following the public display, comments will be evaluated and, if significant, incorporated into the plan.

The main event on Thursday, October 9th, at 6 PM in BC III, Willy-Brandt-Platz 13, Ground Floor, will detail the development plan and offer a chance to ask questions. The plan envisions transforming the area around the main station into a lively, mixed-use neighborhood that harmonizes living, working, leisure, and mobility. The city encourages public involvement in shaping the future of the Main Station Area.
