Forest Retreat in Germany

The third weekend of September is approaching, and with it comes the annual German Forest Days. This nationwide event, organised by the Federal Ministry of Food, Agriculture, and Homeland (BMLEH) and partners, will once again take place in various German forests, including Aschaffenburg's Fasanerie.

On September 20th, the city of Aschaffenburg and the Office for Food, Agriculture and Forestry, Karlstadt, will host guided tours in Aschaffenburg's Fasanerie. The tours, led by experienced foresters and external experts, will begin at the Fasanerie playground and run from 10 am to 4 pm. No registration is necessary to join these informative and engaging tours.

The German Forest Days aim to visually convey knowledge, build acceptance, and engage in dialogue about various forest topics. Numerous events related to forest and recreation, forest and nature conservation, and forest and climate are expected during this year's event. A children's program supported by the LBV and information stands will complement the tours, ensuring an educational and enjoyable experience for all ages.

Each year, the event is centered around a chosen theme to highlight current issues surrounding forests. This year's theme is yet to be announced, but visitors can expect a mix of practical knowledge and expertise, delivered in a one-hour guided tour format. After the tours, participants are invited to exchange ideas over coffee, tea, or cold drinks.

The German Forest Days serve as a platform for exchanging ideas and learning about forest-related issues. They involve various events in German forests, organised by forest administrations, operations, public and private forest owners, associations, clubs, and other stakeholders. So, mark your calendars for September 20th and join the guided tours in Aschaffenburg's Fasanerie. It's a great opportunity to learn, engage, and deepen your understanding of our forests and their importance to our environment and way of life. See you there!
