Five standout features we appreciated at this year's ICFF exhibition

ICFF's Red-Hot Highlights! Although NY Design Week's wrapping up, the International Contemporary Furniture Fair (ICFF) is still sizzling! Occupying the Javits Center until May 20th, this mammoth event remains the U.S.'s biggest furniture-focused trade fair. It's overloaded with exhibitors from 35 countries, showing off the latest trends in furniture, lighting, materials, and more. Here are five stand-out moments from this design extravaganza!

Virginia Sin's dazzling ceramic lighting

Brooklyn-based ceramicist Virginia Sin is famous for her playful, hand-crafted bowls, candelabras, and vessels. But she's branching out – big time – with lighting! At ICFF, Sin's introducing two new collections: OBEL and STRIA. OBEL takes inspiration from the grandiose Egyptian obelisks, resulting in table lamps with sculptural ceramic bases and tapering pyramid-shaped shades. STRIA's sconces, though, are the real eye-catchers. Their chubby, woven forms are as elegant as a Bottega Veneta handbag, embodying ancient techniques in a modern light!

Rockwell Group's corky lamps

Cork's trending like crazy, and Rockwell Group is digging in deeper than anyone! During Milan Design Week, they unveiled Casa Cork – an entire pop-up dedicated to this sustainable, beautiful material. It continues with a new fixture Rockwell Group collaborated on with Stackabl. This collab features cork bases and a colorful, customizable felt fabric – talking waste reduction and stylish design!

LaRose Guyon's glamorous gauzy display

ICFF is no picnic. It's hundreds of booths competing for attention, and LaRose Guyon nailed it! Instead of a standard solid booth, the Canadian lighting company draped layers of gauzy fabric, bathing their delicate chandeliers in an ethereal glow. It was like something straight outta an enchanted sea cave. And lo and behold, LaRose Guyon took home 'Best Exhibit Design' at ICFF's Design Awards!

Cuff Studio's glam squad

In the Wanted area of ICFF, Cuff Studio caught our attention! This LA furniture and lighting studio showcased its new WITHIN collection, a bewitching range of new-to-the-trade furniture and lighting pieces. The Puddling Cascade lamp, a sculptural light made from white cotton rope that gracefully tumbles from the ceiling, floored us. We're also crushing on the C-Back lounge chair, with its hand-textured patinated bronze frame and plum-hued upholstery.

CJ Hendry's bouncy funhouse

Design Week can be a bonkers fairground! And who better to reflect that chaos than Australia-born artist CJ Hendry? ICFF attendees were treated to Hendry's Keff Joons – a series of inflatable tubes sprawling across the exhibition floor like a giant bouncy castle. Hendry also presented Space Chairs, made from 65% recycled materials – proving that eco-friendly fun can also be funky!
