Festival commences on 30th March coming up
Get ready for an exciting spring season in Gießen, as the annual Spring Fair returns from March 30th to April 14th, 2024! The event will take place at the Fairgrounds on Ringallee, offering a variety of attractions, games, and rides for everyone.
Mayor Francesco Arman will officially open the fair at 1:40 PM on March 30th. The opening day will also see visitors receiving free rides on the rides and discounts at snack stands from 2:00 to 2:30 PM.
For thrill-seekers, attractions like 'Freak' and 'Breakdance' will provide adrenaline-pumping experiences. Younger visitors can enjoy rides such as the Auto Scooter and the 'Crazy Construction Site' train.
The fair will feature game stalls and food stands, with extended opening hours. Easter Sunday will be open from 2 PM to 11 PM, while Monday to Thursday will run from 2 PM to 10 PM. On Friday and Saturday, the fair will be open from 2 PM to 11 PM, with food stalls remaining open until 11 PM on weekdays and midnight on weekends.
On April 4th and 11th, Family Days will take place, offering a 50% discount on all fairground rides, a 20% discount on walking and show attractions, and 20% discount on at least three selected articles or offers at all other businesses. Face painting will be a highlight for children during these days.
Photos taken with the Easter Bunny, who will visit the fair on March 30th from 1:30 PM to 3:30 PM, can be entered into a prize draw by uploading them to Instagram and tagging @giesen_entdecken by March 31st, 2024.
A fireworks display will light up the sky on April 6th around 9:30 PM. The Hansa fanfare procession will march through the grounds before the fair opens, adding a touch of tradition to the event.
