Fair construction kick-off slated for June 2nd.
Traffic Advisory for Büdrich During Upcoming Festival
Motorists in Büdrich's city center are advised to avoid Dr. Franz-Schütz-Platz and Dorfstraße from June 2 to June 18 due to a scheduled festival and fair, according to the local Ordnungsamt. Avoiding these areas can help prevent traffic congestion, repeated horn honking, and obstructed side streets.
Michael Gorgs, the city spokesman, suggests that residents undertake brief local journeys and small purchases on foot or by bike during the fair days if possible. He also encourages a more patient and considerate approach amid the increased pedestrian traffic. It is also advisable to avoid bringing children to nearby elementary schools by car during the affected period.
During the parades and processions, running from the Saturday after Pentecost to the Tuesday after, there will be repeated closures in the town. Currently, only the rear part of Dr. Franz-Schütz-Platz is closed due to festival tent setup, but on June 2, the showmen will commence setting up rides and stalls on the entire square. From June 6 to June 11, parking will not be permitted on the front part of the area, and the rear area with the festival tent will remain closed until June 18.
As a result, the Büdrich weekly market will be moved to Theodor-Hellmich-Straße, which will also be closed during market hours. The fair will open on Friday, June 6, at 3 pm and will conclude on the Tuesday after Pentecost.
Sources suggest that there may be roadworks and closures in other areas but do not refer to the specific events in Büdrich. To obtain accurate information about the traffic situations and road closure schedules in Büdrich during the festival period, it is recommended to consult local authorities or the official event organizers.
In light of the upcoming festival and fair in Büdrich, residents are encouraged to adopt a more pedestrian-friendly lifestyle by walking or cycling for local journeys and small purchases, following Michael Gorgs' suggestion. Additionally, home-and-garden enthusiasts planning to visit the Büdrich weekly market during the festival period should note that it has been temporarily moved to Theodor-Hellmich-Straße.
