This June, immerse yourself in the lush, vibrant beauty of Düsseldorf's enchanting forests, meadows, and parks with The Garden Office's fresh lineup of ecological adventures. Here are five tours that will take your breath away:
- Friday, June 9th at 3 pm in Hubbelrath - Discover the enchanting world of wild shrubs with Regina Thebud-Lassak over Hubbelrath golf course. Keep an eye out for those blooming beauties that could end up poisoning your dishes! Meet at the golf course's Bergische Landstraße 700 parking lot. Sorry, no dogs allowed.
- Tuesday, June 13th at 6 pm in Volmerswerth - Join Stefanie Egeling for a colorful journey through Volmerswerther meadows. Get your smartphone ready, as you'll be downloading the Flora incognita and ObsIdentify apps to help identify the blossoming flora along the way. Meeting point at Volmerswerther Deich near the Fleher Bridge on the Düsseldorf side of the Rhine. Again, no dogs allowed.
- Friday, June 16th at 5 pm in Rath - Ana Erika Lemes Dittrich invites you to a forest bathing experience enriched with ecopsychology insights. Gather at Oberrath bus stop (U72) at Wilhelm-Unger-Strasse in Rath, with a blanket, drinks, and a snack. Our four-legged friends won't be joining us on this soothing escapade.
- Saturday, June 17th at 2 pm in Heerdt - Explore the Heerdter Ecotop and uncover its biodiversity, meeting at the entrance area, Am Ecotop 70. No dogs allowed inside the Ecotop grounds.
- Friday, June 30th at 5 pm in the Malkastenpark - Join Claus Lange for a guided tour of the Malkastenpark, featuring both native and exotic plants. Meet at the Jacobi-Haus/Malkasten, Jacobistraße, but be prepared to fork over seven euros for this unique experience.
Remember to register early, as space is limited! You can do so by phone at 0211 89-94800 or by email at [email protected]. Registered attendees are expected to show up; if you can't make it, please inform The Garden Office so they can offer your spot to someone on the waiting list. Each tour carries a 5-euro per person participation fee, payable in cash on site. Children under 14 years can attend for free. To endure the tours' various terrains, wear sturdy footwear and dress for the weather.
