The city of Goslar is gearing up for an exciting event, as the Future Festival is set to take place from September 18 to October 8, joining the German Action Days for Sustainability. This much-anticipated event will occur on September 27, 2020, on Jakobikirchhof in the heart of Goslar's city centre.

The Future Festival promises a day filled with interactive activities, creative crafts, and networking opportunities. Christian Warzecha from the City of Goslar's MachMit! House explains that the festival will focus on engaging visitors in a fun and educational manner, with a particular emphasis on environmental themes.

The festival will also cater to younger visitors, with a mini-fair designed to introduce children to various environmental themes in an age-appropriate manner. The event aims to promote climate protection, with a focus on sustainable daily life, and social justice as the third pillar of sustainability.

More than 30 regional organizations from the county of Goslar will participate in the Future Festival, showcasing their work and projects related to sustainable energy supply, healthy eating, social engagement, and circular economy. Exhibitors will offer sustainable products for sale and provide tips for daily life, helping visitors make informed choices for a greener future.

As part of the festival, the second round of the 'MachMit!Wald' project with the city forest will commence. This project, coordinated by the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture (BMEL) in Germany, encourages community participation in reforestation efforts. Tree sponsorships for the new reforestation area in Hahnenklee can be purchased at the MachMit! stand during the Future Festival.

In addition to the interactive activities, the Future Festival will feature live music performances by Martin Hampe and singer-songwriter Bernd Krage-Sieber. Poet Linda Loreen Loose will also present texts on the topic of sustainability.

The festival will also host various actors from the democracy sector as exhibitors, providing a platform for dialogue and collaboration on sustainability issues. A mini-fair for around 140 students will take place at the MachMit! House on September 26, before the Future Festival, offering an opportunity for students to engage with the themes of the event.
