ESPTimeCast: Retro Wi-Fi LED Matrix Displaying Time & Weather

Mario has developed ESPTimeCast, a Wi-Fi enabled device that displays time and weather data on an LED matrix. It's housed in a 3D-printed enclosure that complements late 60s/early 70s decor. The project uses ESP32 or ESP8266 microcontrollers for connectivity and processing.

ESPTimeCast is built around an LED matrix composed of four 8x8 modules, driven by MAX7219 ICs. It retrieves time from NTP servers and weather data from OpenWeatherMap. Mario designed the device to showcase simple data on a custom-made gadget.

The project is configured through a web interface hosted on the device itself. ESPTimeCast was developed by Espressif Systems, demonstrating their commitment to innovative, connected solutions.
