Calling all locals and visitors! Gear up for a blast as Bi-Wa Altenkrempe invites you to their traditional Citizens' Bird Shooting affair on the BCG Altenkrempe sports field this year. Mark your calendars for June 8th, Whit Sunday, because it's gonna be lit!
The rainbow-colored parade kicks off at 10:30 AM, right from the church square in front of the Milchstraße Basilica. The parade's got rhythm, thanks to the tunes from the music corps of Altenkrempe's volunteer fire department and the Neustadt Spielmanns- und Fanfarenzug. Get ready to see a crowd of special guests, flag-bearing delegations from friendly clubs, fire departments, and associations join the festivities.Line up the 2024 Citizen Queen, Janne Langtim, and the 2025 club king couple will be there to share the glory. The new club king couple will be chosen during internal games the day before.
After the parade, grab a bowl of hearty pea soup or indulge in fries, grilled sausages, cold drinks, cakes, and coffee on the festival grounds.
From 2 PM, get ready for an enchanting afternoon with a concert by the music corps. You'll find a variety of games for both the young and the young at heart, including bowling, goal shooting, air rifle shooting, face painting, and even a performance by the local kindergarten. A tombola, sponsored by friendly businessmen, promises to make the event even more memorable.
The thrilling highlights of the day are the king's shooting for adults aged 18 and above (using a crossbow to hit a wooden bird) and the youth king's shooting for kids twelve and over (using an air rifle to hit a smaller wooden bird).
The king's shot is expected at 6 PM, accompanied by the new 2025 Citizen King and the 2025 Youth King. There's sure to be a joyful celebration after.
From 8 PM, the festival tent transforms into a party venue with the "Pfingstparty total with Music Royal." DJ Florian Albrecht will keep the energy high with his killer tracks until the wee hours of the night. Here's to a weekend of celebration and fun!
