"Duisburg's City Celebration Kicks Off: a Night of Partying and Stardom in the City Core"
Prepare for an unforgettable week of entertainment and cultural experiences as the City Festival Duisburg 2025 kicks off on July 17, 2025, as part of the Rhine-Ruhr 2025 Festival during the FISU World University Games. The festival will run from July 17 to July 27, offering a diverse programme of live performances, cultural events, and activities across several days.
The festival's opening day on July 20 promises a series of exciting highlights. Urban Dance Battle, a 5vs5 All Style Crew Battle, will take place at the iconic Wasserturm, alongside BMX Flatland and Spine Ramp sessions. Dance enthusiasts can enjoy a performance by Be Crazy at the Containerstage, while music lovers can catch live performances by Dilla and Querbeat on the Nordwiese stage. The evening will culminate in a mesmerising Lasershow at the Wasserturm.
Throughout the festival period, attendees can participate in workshops, creative sessions, yoga, and sports competitions. The festival offers a lively atmosphere with street food stalls, chill-out zones, and opportunities to engage in various sports activities on the Dreieckswiese in Duisburg.
The musical programme integrates DJ sets, mini-concerts, and live radio broadcasts, showcasing youth culture and the local music scene in the Ruhr region. The festival emphasises community and cultural exchange, with events such as a Public Dinner and City Talk sessions.
On the Mitsubishi Bruggemann Stage, various artists will perform throughout the festival. On July 20, T.K.M. e.V., Kapelle Krebs, Linus Ntoso, Still No Doubt, Sick Pack, AREA 42, and Rock DJ Claudio Luciani are scheduled to take the stage. On July 19, Janine Marx, André Wörmann, Daniel Ceylan, Angelika Ewa Turo, Jayden, Markus, Dschinghis Khan, Jörg Bausch, and Olaf Henning are set to perform.
The City Works Stage will host performances by Gelsenkirchener SWINGFONIKER, Trionova, Shitman, Primadona, Migelo, Crimson Bloom, Summer Biwak Hauptausschuss Duisburger Karneval, KASCHÄMM, Funky Marys, Bosstime, Peter Bursch’s All Star Band, and Teneja, Ali Ferguson Band, RAY WILSON, and DJ Claudio Luciani.
The Stadtwerke Stage will feature Alexx Marrone, Nevrez Çalışkan, QUEEN KINGS, and DannyMitsubishi Bruggemann.
