Created Personal Task Manager Ditching Store-Bought App, Utilizing Claude 4 Technology
Creating a custom notes and reminder app using Claude, the advanced AI from Anthropic, is a fascinating challenge. Since I'm perpetually forgetting information without jotting it down, this project is perfect for me.
I've tinkered with various reminder and notes apps, but nothing quite suited my needs. With Claude's impressive capabilities in coding, I thought, "Why not make my dream app entirely through a chatbot?" So, I decided to take the plunge and attempt something that seemed impossible just months ago.
Let's Get Started
Designing an app with an AI chatbot requires some understanding of prompting. It's not as simple as saying, "Make me this app," but instead, you need to provide clear instructions and be prepared for a bit of back-and-forth.
Fortunately, Claude makes this initial step slightly easier, offering a pre-designed prompt to help the model work optimally. I modified it a bit to better suit my needs:
"Yo Claude! Design a notes and reminder app that caters to brain dumping and important notes. If you need more details, ask away right now. Don't forget to keep it user-friendly and fun! Let me know if uploading any documents would help you out. You can utilize the tools at your disposal, like web search and Google Drive, to create the best possible app. As for analysis tools, steer clear of those."
"Please crank this task out as soon as possible - an artifact would be great if it makes sense. If you're using an artifact, consider what kind of artifact (interactive, visual, checklist, etc.) might be most fitting for this task. Thanks for the help!"

The AI jumps right in but asks a couple questions first.
- How would you like to differentiate between brain dumps and important notes?
- What essential features do you find crucial for reminders?
After answering these queries, Claude got to work and returned a completed app within a few minutes. The app offered a search function, as well as three categories to add notes: Brain dumps, important notes, and reminders. While it had everything I asked for, I decided I preferred these categories in separate tabs.
Following another request, it took Claude a few more minutes to modify the app, and my notes and reminder app was ready. I could now search for specific notes and had my three categories, capable of adding as many notes as I needed to each category.
Each note has the creation date, and with the reminders section, I could set exact due dates and times. With the app ready, I could then publish it, creating a public URL that I could access from any device.
All in all, I'm mighty impressed.
I've flirted with "vibe coding" using various AI chatbots, including ChatGPT, Grok, and Gemini, but Claude is, by far, the best experience so far. It was incredibly easy to get an app up and running, and I didn't need any coding skills to do it.
While there's still room for improvement, and it's just a URL for accessing my reminders app now, it shows how far AI has advanced in terms of coding. I'm already thinking about what my next app should be.

The app created by Claude, an advanced AI, doesn't only function as a notes and reminder app but also seamlessly integrates elements of home-and-garden and lifestyle management. With features such as due dates and times for reminders, it allows users to manage their tasks, garden chores, or even art projects with ease.
As the AI continues to evolve, it's expected that artificial intelligence will further penetrate various aspects of our lives, including art and technology, making everyday activities more efficient and convenient.
